Joelle's dream wedding in our Reclamation Wonderment and Awe gown

They were a match made in heaven - Joelle and Benji, who had been together since they were 16. It took them 14.5 years and three precious children to finally make their union official.

And what a stunning occasion it was! Benji is dressed in a daper all-black ensemble, but it was Joelle's gown that stole the show. The wedding is was a treat to the eyes - modern and minimalist, understated and intimate. It was no surprise to us that this beautiful wedding got featured on Hello May. 

Joelle and Benji were on the hunt for a venue that would serve as a perfect blank canvas, allowing them to weave their own unique style into the space. However, they also craved a venue with a distinct personality, one that didn't require extensive décor or transformation. The Chapel at The Commons Collective fit the bill, with its classic white walls and old-world charm that proved to be the perfect backdrop for their understated and minimalist style. And with Nicole from Light & Type behind the lens, they knew they would be left with beautiful photos to cherish for a lifetime. 

Joelle wore our We Are Reclamation "Wonderment and Awe" gown. Joelle thought she had found the perfect dress long before her engagement. However, when the wedding planning officially began, she was already a mother of three and feeling slightly self-conscious as a plus-size woman. But her search for the perfect dress was fraught with disappointment. Most bridal boutiques required a special order for plus sizes, leaving her with few options to try on like the "average" sized 4-12. As her wedding day approached, she stumbled upon "Mama Rentals" on Instagram - a maternity dress rental business for photoshoots and baby showers, but she had a different idea in mind, who said you had to be pregnant to wear a maternity gown anyway? 

We shipped the beautiful beige Reclamation Wonderment and Awe Gown for Joelle to try on at the comfort of her own home, and it was love at first sight. It was a perfect fit and exactly what she had envisioned for her special day. And the best part? The dress that would have cost $1,300 to buy from Canada, she hired for only $259.
