Here’s everything you need to know about how we ship your dress to you and how to return it after your event.
How We Ship
- Most orders are shipped with Australia Post Express to ensure speedy delivery.
- Last-minute orders (placed less than 3 business days before your hire date) are always shipped Express Post.
- Orders are carefully packed in reusable garment bags and protective packaging.
Dispatch & Delivery Times
- We dispatch Monday-Friday.
- We aim to dispatch early where the situation allows. Early dispatch may not be possible for last-minute orders or when a dress is booked back-to-back.
- Express Post usually arrives in 1-2 business days for most metro areas.
- For rural areas, WA, and NT, Express Post generally takes 2-5 business days. Our cart page advises customers to order at least 3 business days ahead.
- Check delivery times via Australia Post’s Postage Calculator - we ship from postcode 2087 (Forestville, NSW).
Delivery Window
We plan dispatch so your order arrives 1-2 days before your event date, provided the order wasn’t placed last-minute and the dress isn’t booked back-to-back.
Once lodged with Australia Post, delivery timing is outside our control. Mama Rentals isn’t responsible for postal delays, non-delivery, or redirection issues.
Local Pick Up & Same-Day (Sydney)
- Free local pickup is available from Forestville, NSW.
- Same-day courier can be arranged for Sydney metro for an additional fee (subject to availability).
How to Return Your Dress
Returning your rental is simple. Please follow the steps below to avoid late fees:
- Return your dress in the garment bag it was delivered in, inside the prepaid mailer bag or postal box provided.
- Parcels or boxes must be lodged over the counter at an Australia Post outlet before 4pm on your return date. Always obtain a lodgement receipt.
- Do not use street-side post boxes unless Mama Rentals has explicitly advised you to do so. These cause delays and loss of tracking.
- If your return date falls on a Sunday or public holiday, you may return it the next business day before 4pm.
- If your order was picked up locally, please return it to the same location by the due date.
Important Notes
- Please provide a safe and accurate delivery address.
- If you’re in a rural area, WA, or NT, we suggest ordering as early as possible. While our cart states a minimum of 3 business days, we strongly recommend 5 business days before your event to give your dress the best chance of arriving on time.
